Vegas.... ya? No...
Back from Vegas, tired and frustrated at the moment.
I have a bunch of posts in mind breaking down the week of events as well as a March summary post but I’m so completely brain dead that I can barely muster out this piece of shit post.
I’ll say a few things quickly then resume catching up on all my regularly read websites and forums.
1. Vegas tournaments and sit&go’s for the most part suck balls. The structures are out-of-this-world terrible and are purely designed to get shitty players involved with casino gaming in general, hopefully get lucky and quickly head back out to the slots. Not that I don’t like playing against bad players mind you, but there is only so much “outplaying” you can do when you start with 15 big blinds…
2. I missed the internet. I missed playing online. Sure, I “get” the romanticism that people have associated with live play. The characters at the table, the social aspects, the forced tipping of everyone who smiles at you, I get it. But after hours of slow ass 20 hands/hour play and having to talk to drunken idiots who think they know how to play poker, raking in massive pot after massive pot playing any 2 suited cards while you sit there and fold another J5o, it loses its mystique. Perhaps I just need to adjust to this type of game, but from a purely money making mindset, playing online is the way to go for a non-gambling, risk averse, tight player as myself.
3. If you want to play poker in Vegas, leave your girlfriend at home. Vegas has everything you need to have a good time with your girlfriend as a vacation, but if your main goal is to play poker and make money, leave your girl at home.
Peace I’m outta here.
